The graphics are no better (if not worst than in COD4), and COD4 runs really smooth.

Ive a 8800gts and a core2duo, 4gb ram, on the lowest settings, and the frame rate is poor to say the least, from 19fps to 35fps.

It looks and feels like a console port, very few pc options for settings, not even a xfi eax setting for creative users!

You can’t bind the side mouse buttons to do anything!

You have to download a 300mb patch before you can play the game! (plus no standalone patch even!)

It plays more like ghost recon rather than battlefield, although GRAW played alot better than this.

Such a waste of a game, and where are the jets !

Poor server options, it was like, o yea we making a pc port we better put in a few server options for PC users.

The cut scenes – what the hell are they about, a waste of 10seconds of your life!

Anyone wanna buy my copy?

IGN posted their video review of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Xbox 360. Overall they gave it a 8.9/10.

What struck me as most impressive with Bad Company 2 is how flexible the multiplayer game is. The class system allows you to choose what your approach to battle will be. It’s the maps and modes included in this package that allow you to choose exactly what kind of game you want to play. There is a huge difference between the giant and extended team Rush games – an attack and defend mode which plays out across expansive maps and features vehicles heavily — and the tighter Squad Deathmatch games which can feel just like your standard frantic and close-quarters shooter. If you care for something in between, you can just hop into a Conquest game to try your hand at the classic Battlefield fight over specific areas controlled by raising and lowering flags. Regardless of your mood, it feels like Bad Company 2 has something for you.

And if the game itself isn’t enough reason to keep coming back, perhaps you’ll find yourself hooked on the class upgrade system. New weapons and gadgets can be unlocked, as well as little perks to give you an edge in the fight. Those familiar with Call of Duty (And at this point who isn’t?) will be right at home with the system that rewards players for completing small challenges as well as winning games or simply playing well and getting a lot of kills.

EA released a new Bad Company 2 video today showing one of the new gamemodes called Squad Deathmatch. In Squad Deathmatch up to four squads with four players each take on each other in a race to 50 kills. The mode takes advantage of the series’ spawn-to-squadleader feature to help keep your team together in the field. In addition, new previews talking about the newly announced Squad Deathmatch gamemod in the game can be found on IGN, Gamespot, Kotaku, Joystiq and Fragland. Bad Company 2 lands on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 2, with the PC version boasting various improvements over the console editions. FYI, Battlefield 1943 is slated for a PC release in the first quarter of 2010, having hit PS3 and 360 in July.

The mode, as I said, is called Squad Deathmatch and it plays as simply as it sounds. You and your squad have to be the first to get 50 kills (kill limits can be changed in the settings) by eradicating the opposition which consists of three other teams of four players (at its max). Aiding you — or perhaps the other teams if they capitalize first — is a vehicle specifically designed to eradicate soldiers on foot. It’s the sole vehicle in this mode so capturing it is of the utmost importance. The maps that you’ll find in Squad Deathmatch are specifically tailored to the mode, with certain areas designed to provide a strategic advantage to the vehicle while the opposite is true elsewhere. It’s also cool that, depending on what multiplayer mode you select, you could get an entirely different portion of the map than you would in another game type. A map’s total area can be up to 64 square kilometers and every piece will surely be used by one mode or another.

The map we were playing on, known as Laguna Presa, is home to gobs of lush greenery that seemed to pop off the screen a bit more than any of the colors in the first Bad Company. There are large shipping crates situated around the level that act as protective cover from the marauding tank that chops down soldiers. Laguna Presa also changes elevations quite often — with both high ground and low ground — and includes plenty of shrubbery which makes for an easy hiding place for snipers. Unlike other games, the camouflage in Bad Company 2 actually works pretty damn well. Just ask the knife in my character’s back.

DICE producer, Gordon Van Dyke made a post on the Battlefield blog talking about the PC version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Originally expected to drop in December, the beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on the PC has been pushed back until early 2010.
We wanted to update you, and slow the flood of tweets, on questions surrounding the BFBC2 PC Beta being cancelled. I’ll get right to it and say “the BFBC2 PC Beta is not cancelled”. Now this all started due to changes made to an earlier blog that removed the PC Beta from the details and the reason for this was the plan changed. With the huge success of the PS3 Beta we decided to drastically increase the PC Beta’s capacity to insure as many people as possible could participate. Unfortunately this meant we had to delay the Beta to very early next year giving us more planning time to make it happen and implement more optimizations.

Here is a recap of the current PC features, and we can now confirm DX11 support with more details to come later!

PC Enhanced Features
* Up to 32 Players on PC (24 on consoles) – Play with up to 32 players online in the biggest multiplayer Maps in Battlefield. Each with a different tactical and gameplay focus set across a variety of environments.
* Full DirectX 9, 10 & 11 Support – Immerse yourself in the Battlefield world as Frostbite engine brings tanks, planes, and explosions to vivid life on your PC. The game will fully support Windows XP, Vista, and 7 with new tech that further improves things like lighting and shadows.
* Enhanced Gameplay – The PC version also includes wide peripheral support like Joysticks for flying, NVDIA 3D Vision, Logitech LCD Keyboards and VoIP Support plus a variety of specific features tailored for PC play.
* Friend Support – Find your friends online with the new buddy list to see if and who is online so you can quickly join their game.
* Dedicated Ranked Server – Everyone gets non-stop action with no connection penalties based on some other player’s internet. Ranked Server Provider program will give players opportunity to rent their own server(s) located in professional grade datacenters, ability to modify settings like map rotation, create reserved slots for friends or clan members, kick & Ban players, and custom name your ranked server.
* Clan Support & Private Servers – Independent Clan Tag, and ability to rent servers for hosting and controlling private password protected competitive servers with expanded control over the settings from public ranked servers.
* PC Squad Play System – Updated from previous Battlefield PC titles now gives control of your squad before heading into combat.
